About your host...Steve Payne

Steve trained for 3 years at the world-famous Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and worked as a professional actor, appearing in theatres across the UK, radio plays for the BBC and in some of the UK's best loved TV series, such as EastEnders and Inspector Morse.

As a professional speaker, Steve has generated more than £1m in sales of his courses from a stage, spoken across the globe for some of the world's leading brands, and helped countless people overcome their fear of public speaking to become powerful and persuasive speakers in their own right.

Steve's speaker training methodology blends techniques from the theatre, drama, storytelling, NLP and neuroscience and helps people tap into that precious commodity - their authenticity. He has helped many people take their passion to the TEDx stage, as well as help them find their voice to share their message on multiple platforms, live, recorded and virtual.

Some interesting snippets:

  • Steve was an Associate Producer of the Oscar shortlisted film, Gone Fishing, starring Bill Patterson
  • The film Steve co-wrote, Morrison's Birthday Party, won the Best Short Film at the New York International Film Festival
  • Steve directed the documentary 'Swim, Fat Boy Swim', which was broadcast on Sky TV
  • Steve was a lecturer in drama and acting for camera at Morley College, Waterloo, London
  • Steve's fellow classmates at Central include Graham Norton, James Nesbitt (Cold Feet), Rufus Sewell (The Man in the High Castle), Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter), James Purefoy (Solomon Kane), & Jared Harris (BAFTA winner for Chernobyl, Mad Men)

Having been painfully shy as a young child,  Steve has seen the transformational power of drama and public speaking training and his experience has taught him that great speakers are not born, they are created!
